Togtema,  Tetje (Terry) (nee Hofstra)………..  

Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London ON, Wednesday July 28, 2021. Terry went to be with her Lord and saviour Jesus Christ at the age of 90 years. Born in Sexbeirum, Friesland, The Netherlands on February 15, 1931. 

Predeceased by Kornelis (Casey) Togtema her loving husband of 38 years; son Gerald Togtema and great grandson Jensen Togtema. Lovingly remembered by her son John (Helene) , daughters Katharine Longo (Frank) and Cynthia MacDonald (Mark), and Brenda Wyma (John Clarke) . Grandchildren Cosmo (Stephanie), Kees (Ola), Korey (Mavis), Frank (Laura), Gregorey (Melissa), Whitney, Joseph (Jenna), Colin, Ross, and Alison. Great-grandchildren Olivier, Sullie, Mali, Frankie, Denham, Grace, Lennon. Brother-law John Hogendoorn, niece Annette Geldbert (Gerry).

Private family service will be held on Sunday August 1, 2021. Interment to follow in Bolton, ON at a later date. Terry was well known for her kindness, compassion and many years of volunteer pastoral care visits in the community.    Tante Tetje was myn lieve tante, ze heeft mij veel kunnen vertellen over vroeger met haar broers en pake en beppe.
   Ik ben dankbaar voor wat zij voor mij betekende.

   We’re so very sorry for your loss. Tante Teddy was a special aunt for me. She provided me with both comfort and joy in times of need. All who knew her will surely miss her kindness, caring and ‘joie de vivre’. Rest In Peace Tante Teddy. Memories we shared will live in our hearts forever.

8. Condolences to the Togtema family from Adrian and Wendy Helleman. My parents knew yours very well, but both of them died many years ago already (Henk 2007 and Tess 2014). We knew your father and mother and have many fond memories of them.

9. To all the Togtema family,

   My mother and I didn’t get to know Terry till we started attending Westmount Presbyterian Church. She was the first person to welcome us. After that she often sat with my mom, Irene, while I was in the choir, and would drop in for tea every so often.
   She was so proud of her family, and we got to meet several of you, but felt we knew you all through your mother. A wonderful lady, we will miss her.

10. To the Togtema Family,

    My mother Paula truly enjoyed Terry’s company at Longworth. She was a kind and friendly person.

    She will be dearly missed by Paula.
