Dr. David Arthur Gregory

GREGORY, Dr. David Arthur…

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. David Arthur Gregory, age 71, at his home on October 3, 2022, with family by his side. David was a devoted husband to Pamela and proud father to Christopher (Shannon), Heather (David), and Jennifer (David). His grandchildren Brielle, Ty, Owen, and Patrick brought pure joy to his life. He will be missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sharon Gregory, as well as his nephews. David is predeceased by his father and mother, Arthur and Mary Gregory, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Edward Brown.

David was born in Strathroy and raised in Ridgetown, Ontario before moving to London, Ontario to pursue a career in medicine at Western University. He was happiest spending time with his kids and grandchildren, attending the annual Rock & Gem shows in Denver and Tucson, and showing his latest meteorite finds to friends, family, and patients. David took great pride in his many unique collections, especially the meteorites on display at the Royal Ontario Museum. Ensuring the care of the patients in his medical practice was always a top priority in his life and he treated each of them as a member of his extended family. His quiet, humble, and caring personality will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

We would like to thank his supportive friends and medical team Dr. Floyd, Dr. Hertwig, Dr. Egbujuo, Dr. Jones, Dr. Cheng, Dr. Ikafia, Dr. Kay, Dr. MacDonald, Dr. Sey, Dr. Dhaliwal, Dr. Hertzman, and Julie Campbell NP. A very special thanks goes out to Dr. Logan who guided him through his journey with constant hope and laughter. You will all be remembered by our family forever. Lastly, but certainly not least, we would like to thank our family friend, Kathy Gilchrist, for her kindness, support, and devotion to the medical practice over the last 27 years.

At David’s request, a public funeral service will not be held. Those wishing to honour his memory are asked to consider a donation to Another Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation. Donations can be made by e-transfer to anotherchance4u@hotmail.com, by mail to Another Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation, 98 Hemlock Street, St. Thomas, ON, N5R 1X9 or through the website www.anotherchancewildlife.ca. Dr. Gregory has been our family physician for decades and has looked after 3 generations of my family, since he took over Dr. Browm’s practice, when I was just a kid to looking after my kids. I actually was telling a story yesterday to my best friend on how he would regularly call my dad on a Sunday evening to tell him to adjust his meds; WHAT DOCTOR DOES THAT, NOT ENOUGH! I had so many conversations over the years about the science, which was very informative and I will deeply miss. There is not much other that can be said other than he will be deeply missed by me and my family, RIP!

  37. So very sorry for your loss. Dr. Gregory was my doctor for the entire 23 years of my life and he was more of a grandfather to me than a doctor. I was lucky enough to see him once a month for allergy needles for the better part of 4 years where he would tell me countless stories about his mineral collection but mainly he would tell me about how proud he was of his family. The Mold was certainly broken when they made that man and I am very lucky to say that I knew him.

  51. Dear Pam, Chris, Heather, Jennifer & families,
I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to work along side Dave & Pam for almost 27 years. What started as short term holiday coverage turned in to a lifelong friendship with your family. Dave was so many things to so many people. He was a mentor, a trusted confidant & a respected and caring physician who went above and beyond for so many patients over the years. Dave was humble and kind and did so many things behind the scenes to help patients in their time of need without looking for any recognition. I was fortunate to witness his many acts of kindness. His love of medicine was obvious as noted by so many patients. His love of meteorites was also a passion that he shared with so many patients & he was so happy that it was a passion he could share with Chris. Above everything it was his love of family that stood out to me. He was so proud of all of your accomplishments. When he became a grandfather he proudly shared pictures, videos and stories of what the kids said or did. He loved watching them grow.

On this day of Thanksgiving, I give thanks for the 27 years we had together but I am truly saddened that our time together was cut short. Dave was an integral part of my family. He delivered & cared for my grandchildren. He watched them grow in to young adults. He cared for my husband, my sons & their families. He was family to us and we all loved and respected him.

    Rest In Peace Dave. ❤️

  52. I will be one of the many patient/friends that will miss having you in their lives, saw me through a lot of ups and downs over the almost 30 yrs I knew you. Rest In Peace. Respect.
